Mystery of biology 7 : Anesthesia

Anesthesia is a medical method to check the sensation of pain by inactivating the sensory receptors during surgeries.

Anesthesia may be used to:
  1. Relax you
  2. Block pain
  3. Make you sleepy or forgetful
  4. Make you unconscious for your surgery.


There are many types of anesthesia, namely..
  1. Local anesthesia
  2. Regional anesthesia
  3. General anesthesia
          Local anesthesia includes small part of the body. It is used for small procedures(operations). You may stay awake during the procedure or operation. The local anesthesia will be given through injection.


LOCAL ANESTHESIA


         Regional anesthesia covers a greater part of body. Here anesthetic drug will be given to major nerve or to spinal cord. It's effect is more compare to local anesthesia.

SPINAL ANESTHESIA


LUMBAR ANESTHESIA





     General anesthesia will temporarily deactivates whole body including brain. The drug will given through breathing. During major surgeries G.A plays great role.

There are many anesthetic drugs which are unique in it's activity.
